Malou Efter tio

Today we have been guesting the morning show "Malou Efter tio" at the Swedish channel "TV4" to talk about our furniture, which will be part of their studio interior during the next two weeks.

"The desk that becomes a dining table, the arm chair that becomes a cradle, the chair that becomes a ladder and the floor lamp that you can hang hangers on". See how you simple and easy with our multifunctional furniture can decorate both large and small rooms. The interest was so overwhelming it caused our website to temporarily collapse due to all the visitors!

På sofflocket

Plus Function produces a modern kitchen sofa!

Before taking a step in to the future, Plus Function wants to acknowledge the past. As a tribute to old multifunctional solutions we have chosen to make the design project ‘På Sofflocket’ The kitchen sofa which we have named "Scandi Bench", was exhibited at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011, a part of Plus Functions collection.

The kitchen sofa is a modern interpretation of the old and traditional Swedish kitchen sofa which usually worked as the hub in the family home. Being the natural gathering place, that’s where everything happens. From homework and naps to coffee and newspaper on a Sunday morning.

This new edition offers the same functions as the traditional one but adapted to the modern way of living. The storage space is divided into two parts making it easy to reach and organize the content. With the open plan living area commonly occurring in today’s home the back provides storage for books and/or newspapers.

Lisa Frode, Johanna Westin and Emma Nilsson are the three designers behind the kitchen sofa. They are finishing their Master’s degree in industrial design at Lunds University in the south of Sweden this summer 2012.

In our collaboration with Plus Function we have been given the opportunity to produce our kitchen bench and spread this traditional Swedish piece of furniture to the modern homes, something we are really happy about. Our input as designers has been highly respected by Plus Function and by working close with them we’ve got the opportunity to follow through the whole process, says Lisa, Johanna and Emma.

The kitchen sofa will be available for sale in fall 2012.
